Urticata – Demonspawn Poisonous Bug

Published On: April 26, 2023

Urticata is a Spirit affinity Epic from the Demonspawn faction in Raid: Shadow Legends. Urticata spawns in Teleria bringing nightmares to the children of Teleria. This weird bug-like monster brings a unique passive that can be powerful. In every sense of the word Urticata is strange indeed, looks and her Kit are strange but is it strange good or strange bad? In this spotlight we will figure out which one it is, let’s hope it’s the first one!

Urticata’s skill set.

A1 Mephitic Spines

Attacks 1 enemy 2 times. Each hit has a 30% chance of increasing the duration of 2 [Poison] debuffs by 1 turn.

A2 Poison Agonist – 3 Turn Cooldown

Attacks 1 enemy 3 times. Each hit has a 30% (books to 50%) chance of placing a 25% [Poison Sensitivity] debuff for 2 turns.

A3 Wretched Nexus – 4 Turn Cooldown (Books to 3-turns)

Attacks 4 times at random. Each hit has a 50% chance of placing a [Hex] debuff for 2 turns.

Passive Blood Borne

Whenever either this champion or an ally lands a critical hit on an enemy under a [Hex] debuff, has a 10% (Books to 25%) chance of placing a 5% [Poison] debuff on the enemy for 1 turn.

Aura

Increases Ally SPD in all Battles by 15%.

Urticata’s Skill Breakdown

Urticata could be classed as a poisoner that has no direct ability to place poisons which is the strange point. She will extend poisons on her A1 and will place Poison Sensitivity on her A2. She hits a lot of times with a combined 9 attacks over 3 abilities. What makes Urticata unique is that her Passive will allow anyone on your team a chance to place a 5% Poison if they land a critical hit which will be every hit in a clan boss fight! Her aura is also great and can help you go faster.

Where to use Urticata?

Urticata is very much a PvE champion and can be used as an enabler of poisons in the area’s like Clan Boss, Dragon, and Ice Golem. However, since she has multi hits on all her skills, she can be a key figure for you in the Fire Knight dungeon to break down that annoying shield.

Conclusion

So, is it good or bad strange? Well, it’s kind of both, on Paper Urticata looks like a great champion added to the world of Teleria. But when you look at the details of her Kit, the Passive has a too small chance to land the poisons. If you have no-one else for your fight and you need poisons, she will not let you down and I think she can do some work against the Clan Boss as the passive has a higher probability of working because of the sheer number of attacks you get.
