So, What is a speed tuned clan boss team in Raid Shadow Legends?
Optimizing the speed of your Clan Boss team is crucial for maximizing damage output. The turn order of your champions against the Clan Boss is directly influenced by their speed, and some champions need precise speed tuning to ensure they use their abilities at the most effective moments in the battle.
A few examples of this would be:
A counter attacker needing to go last before AOE 1 to apply a counter-attack buff that will last for both AOE hits.
A cleansing champion to go after AOE 2 or the Stun to remove your debuffs
A Block debuff champion to block the debuffs on AOEs or to block the stun.
An unkillable buff champion.
Here are some commonly used Team Speed Tunes:
4:3 Ratio
A 4:3 ratio team revolves around 1 or more champion with a 4 turn cooldown, running at such speed that they cycle it back every clan boss rotation, meaning they will take 2 turns between 1 of the clan bosses turns, allowing that 4 turn ability to be back in time, an example of this would be Sepulcher Sentinel with her A2 ability, tuning Sepulcher to 4:3 can allow her to block both AOE 2’s debuffs and the stun every single cycle. This can help to make your team affinity neutral and allow you to push out more damage by not having one of your team getting stunned.
2:1 Ratio
A 2:1 ratio allows your whole team to hit twice for every 1 turn the clan boss takes, this really allows for you to push a LOT of damage, and is a commonly used tune in end-game teams, in compositions such as Bat-eater. However, the speed requirements for such a ratio are very intense and do require certain champions to enable this more often than not, like Seeker or Ma’shalled. Reaching a 2:1 ratio is possible without these champions however the speed requirements are greatly increased without their buffs/turn meter boosts.
Masteries to avoid
Speed tunes can be very fiddly to get right, and several masteries that boost your turn meter/reduce cooldowns can and WILL ruin your run, make sure that you double-check these.
Masteries to avoid:
Rapid Response
Arcane Celerity
Cycle of Magic
Unkillable clan boss teams are a perfect demonstration of how important a tune is, as if your team is built out of tune, it simply will not work, you will fall out of sync and your run will fail.
ClanBoss Calculator
My Clan Boss calculator lets you input all the details of your team and simulates their turn and ability order, ensuring everything works as intended. It also helps you determine your true speed rather than the speed shown in-game, as speed sets and the Lore of Steel mastery add hidden decimal values to your speed. This difference could be why your tune isn’t working as expected, so make sure you enter all your stats accurately when using the calculator. You can access the calc here. As much as getting your speed tune working can take a lot of work, once it is done it really will push your clan boss team to the next level.
What if I don’t have a champion that requires a speed tune?
An alternative to speed tuning, which is commonly used for earlier accounts, is a “speed team” – the general idea and goal for a team like this is going as fast as you can with as many turns as possible while you are alive, using champions with an Ally attack ability can really enhance your damage output in a team like this, as effectively it is giving your whole team an extra turn. You should also aim to use speed boosters in this team to enable you further – prime examples of this would be Apothecary, High Khatun and Seeker.
While a speed team will generally drop off later in the game, it is a great way to push your clan boss teams’ damage while you are earlier in the game to enable yourself to get better rewards.
