Important Considerations
Works for both UNM and NM. Emic Trunkheart will move at a 4:3 Speed Ratio, enabling him to keep unkillable on your full team for the AOE attacks while cooling down your allies abilities, allowing the usage of another AOE unkillable champion to stay protected for the stun.
- ALL SPEEDS LISTED ARE TRUE SPEEDS.
- Speeds listed exclude any speed aura. If you use an aura you should reduce your build speed accordingly.
- Use the calculator to find the build speed and take into account any Area Bonuses your account may have.
- Make sure to prioritize all the skills in the Team Setup
- This particular tune has a WIDE range of speeds that can work for NM but not UNM, Spirit NM but not Spirit UNM and everywhere in between. Please check UNM, NM, UNM Spirit and NM Spirit in the calculator before building! These speeds and descriptions listed encompass a wide range of viable options, but not all of them. Spirit can be particularly tricky depending on whether you use a Cleanser or 1 Turn Duration Block Debuff or a 2 Turn Duration Block Debuff. Triple check!
Speed Ranges:
As with nearly every Speed Tune, there are more speeds that will work than are listed, but these are the ones tested that work best and most consistently for the approved difficulties and affinities. Generally changing the speeds of one champion can change the speeds needed of other champions. Feel free to play around in the calculator to find what works best for your team.
- CLEANSER
- 246-248 – Emic Trunkheart
- 187-188 – Doompriest or alternate cleanser or DPS
- 179-181 – DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage
- 172-178 – DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage
- 172-178 (slowest) – DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage (if using Warcaster or Demytha they MUST go here)
The Cleanser will always go first after AOE2 to cleanse debuffs and/or to cleanse the Stun. Doompriest can cleanse both and as such is an ideal fit to make this affinity friendly.
Emic’s A3 needs to be fully booked (4 turn cooldown), his A2 does not (4 turn cooldown)
Warcaster or Demytha MUST be in the slowest slot.
- 2 TURN DURATION BLOCK DEBUFF
- 246-248 – Emic Trunkheart
- 187-188 – Fast DPS
- 172-178 – DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage
- 172-178 – DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage
- 172-176 (slowest) – 3 or 4 turn debuff blocker or DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage (if using Warcaster or Demytha they MUST go here)
The Fast DPS will always go first after AOE2 to cleanse debuffs and/or to cleanse the Stun.
Emic’s A3 needs to be fully booked (4 turn cooldown), his A2 does not (4 turn cooldown)
Warcaster or Demytha are NOT viable.
- 1 TURN DURATION BLOCK DEBUFF
- 246-248 – Emic Trunkheart
- 173-178, 179-186 UNM (187-188 NM) – Fast DPS, the Fast UNM speeds will work for NM, but changes timing of Emic’s UK ability, so not compatible with solo Unkillable Stun Targets.
- 172-178 – DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage
- 172-178 – DPS or Unkillable/Block Damage
- 172-176 (slowest) – 3 or 4 turn cooldown debuff blocker
The fast DPS will always go first (or second on NM) after AOE2 and the Stun to cleanse affinity debuffs and/or to cleanse the Stun.
Emic’s A3 needs to be fully booked (4 turn cooldown), his A2 does not (4 turn cooldown)
Warcaster or Demytha are NOT viable.
For the fast DPS the the Fast UNM speeds will work for NM, but changes timing of Emic’s UK ability, so not compatible with solo Unkillable Stun Targets.
A good option is to substitute the Fast slot with a 187-188 champ for NM only.
Speed Tune Sync:
- UNM tune will sync on turn 5
- NM tune will sync on turn 2
Spirit affinity on NM, when using a Cleanser, will alter the order and timing of the unkillable skills, but it is still viable.
If you’re using Block Debuff Champion on a 3 turn cooldown (Underpriest Brogni/Grizz Jarl/Tatura Rimehide) instead of a cleanser, beware the timing of Emic’s A2 cooldown as that can throw off the timing of the Block Debuff skill – you will likely have to manual the setup between turns 3 and turn 5.
If you’re using a Block Debuff Champion on a 4 turn cooldown timing shouldn’t be an issue.
A 1 turn Block Debuff will work, but Emic will protect the Stun and AOE 1, not both AOE’s. Must have another aoe UK/BD champ.
Regardless of the cooldowns of the champions, be careful of buffs that affect stun targeting (Increase Defense, Reflect Damage) as the clan boss will try to avoid these. The first few turns Emic will be vulnerable to the stun since these buffs will likely fall off him while staying on others (making him a preferred stun target). Either manual with him or your Debuff Blocker or account for the skill delay from the stun in your setup phase.
Check Advanced Notes for special conditions for solo unkillable champions (like Skullcrusher or Taurus)
Skill Set Up:
- UNM
- Emic opens a3, then a2.
- Other Unkillable Champ has a 1 turn delay with UK/BD skill (open with a1 or other skill).
- If using Demytha, prioritize the a2 skill and open a2, then a3.
- If using a 3 turn cooldown Block Debuff champ, open with this skill (Emic will be vulnerable to the stun). Emic will be vulnerable to a spirit debuff on turn 5, but it will still sync up by turn 8.
- If using a 4 turn cooldown Block Debuff champ, open with this skill (Emic will be vulnerable to the stun).
- NM
- Emic opens a1, a3, then a2.
- Other Unkillable Champ has a 2 turn delay with UK/BD skill (open with a1 or other skill, twice).
- If using Demytha, prioritize the a2 skill and open a1, then a2, then a3.
- If using a 3 turn cooldown Block Debuff champ, has a 1 turn delay of this skill (open with a1 or other skill), will still sync up by turn 2.
- If using a 4 turn cooldown Block Debuff champ, has a 1 turn delay of this skill (open with a1 or other skill), will still sync up by turn 2.
- NM Spirit with Cleanser ONLY
- Emic opens a3, then a2.
- Other Unkillable Champ has a 1 turn delay with UK/BD skill (open with a1 or other skill).
- If using Demytha, prioritize the a2 skill and open a1, then a2, then a3.
- Turn order will sync on turn 8.
Gear, Masteries, Blessings:
- Gear
- Any sets that don’t affect turn meter or skill timing for the key players (both Unkillable/Block Damage Champs, Cleanser, Block Debuff). No relentless.
- Masteries
- Stick to typical Masteries that won’t affect Turn Meter or skill timing.
- Blessings
- Stick to typical Clan Boss Blessings.
Advanced Notes:
- For those of you who want to get creative and try using a solo unkillable champ to tank the stun – think Skullcrusher or Gnarlhorn – you will want to know there’s some alternate speeds that will help you against spirit affinity on NM. Your fast DPS (175-178) actually has two distinct ranges: 175-178 and 179-181. If you’re using a Cleanser, the traditional ranges will not work for you, as the Unkillable from Emic will shift, covering the Stun and first AOE by turn 8. When using a second AOE unkillable champion (2 turn duration) this isn’t an issue – they still cover everyone. But if you want to solo tank the stun you will need the fast DPS champ between 179-181 for Nightmare on Spirit affinity to stay perfectly in sync. However, over 179 on UNM will delay syncing by one full cycle on void, so you’ll have to pick your poison, so to speak. When blocking the Spirit affinity debuff, you’re best staying 178 and under. The Nightmare link will be shared below.
- When using a solo unkillable champion (like Skullcrusher or Taurus) in addition to the notes above, you will have to ensure the champion heals enough to be attacked, but not enough where the clan boss will select an alternate target. The Clan Boss will avoid champs with Unkillable Buffs if their HP is under 16% of Max.
- Some champions with passive skills (like Skullcrown) will not need any special gear – they simply CANNOT HEAL. So avoid using leech or any healing masteries or healing skills.
- Champions who place unkillable on themselves (like Skullcrusher) will need to have enough passive healing to exceed the 16% threshold for the Clan Boss to consider them a viable target. Using a Regeneration and Immortal set combination should suffice. If your cleanser heals (like Doompriest) you can factor that in as well. But you should avoid the life drinker mastery as it can potentially over-heal. In addition the rest of your team needs to heal up more than your target. The easiest method to achieve this is through the classic Lifesteal set or, if the unkillable skill is NOT an attack skill, leech debuff. Note that if leech falls off chances are you will wipe!
- Special notice should be made for a champion that harms themselves like Taurus. You will have to use his Unkillable skill a turn earlier, so the next turn he has a chance to heal up above the threshold. Leech should be avoided when using him.
- Also note champions like Dhukk, who place buffs on themselves the clan boss tries to avoid (reflect damage in his case) will NOT work since the CB will avoid stunning them regardless.
- Lastly AFFINITY MATTERS! Don’t choose someone who’s strong affinity – they will NOT take the stun!
- NM Spirit the turn order will differ from other affinities if using a cleanser – it WILL change skill order so make sure to pre-set those changes.
