Deacon Armstrong - The Goat

Deacon Armstrong – The Goat, is a renowned champion hailing from the Sacred Order faction in Raid: Shadow Legends, he is one of the best! He stands as one of the game’s premier experts in turn meter manipulation. However, his abilities extend far beyond this speciality, making him a versatile asset in a wide range of scenarios. Why is he the goat?!

Deacon Armstrong isn’t just good; Deacon is the GOAT! His kit demonstrates brilliant synergy, especially when fully booked and ascended, transforming him into a master of turn meter manipulation. His A3 skill not only boosts your team’s turn meter while decreasing your enemies’, but it also grants him an extra turn. Following this, he can unleash his A2, an area-of-effect (AOE) move that, when booked, inflicts a two-turn Defense Decrease. To top it all off, there’s a good chance his A1 can apply a Leech effect.

Now, you might be thinking that many champions offer AOE Defense Decrease and turn meter manipulation. However, what sets Deacon apart is that both his A2 and A3, when fully booked, are on a mere three-turn cooldown. When Deacon gains that extra turn after using his A3, he effectively reduces the cooldown of any skills currently on cooldown. This essentially means that his A2 and A3 are available every two turns. Having both turn meter manipulation and AOE Defense Decrease on such a short cooldown is nothing short of extraordinary!

Where should you use him?!

In simple terms, Deacon excels everywhere! He’s just that exceptional. Whether you’re battling the Dark Fae in Doom Tower, utilizing him as a secondary turn meter booster and Defense Decrease champion in the arena, or seeking his true brilliance in the Clan Boss encounters, Deacon Armstrong proves his worth. His skillset is tailor-made for Clan Boss battles, featuring an A1 ability with Leech, Defense Decrease, and turn meter manipulation. With this unique combination and a mere 2-turn cooldown, he can significantly contribute to achieving a favorable two-for-one exchange with the Clan Boss.

If fortune smiles upon you and you manage to acquire him, it’s highly recommended to ascend him to three stars and fully book his A2 and A3 abilities. This will grant you an abundance of turns and allow you to deal considerably more damage than ever before!

I was working on my Deacon. Got him to 50, geared and ascended etc, but have recently pulled Lyssandra, who seems to do a similar job. Is she a better option for this role?
